The 4th of July festivities were awesome with the Ninja & Princess in training! Dad was granted a day off of work and able to join in the fun as well. We took an easy morning and joined the excitement at the pool. It was a free day so multiple and non frequent people attended including dad!   The night of the 4th was the best this family has seen in a while. though nothing can compare to sitting on a beach in Hawaii and watching the fireworks explode right above you. This was the first 4th since mom and dad's youth the didn't not have to bring a jacket for when the sun set and shorts were a must from the lingering humidity. As well as the fireworks were shot directly above us from about 75 yards away and it was amazing to watch. The Ninja and Princess are old enough to not cower at the explosion of each firework and sit back and enjoy the actual show. We also invested in a very simple 2 mile range spy walkie talkie set earlier this summer. This enabled the Ninja and Princess to go enjoy the festivities at the lake (bouncy house, obstacle course, face painting, and balloon guy) While mom and dad could relax with each other on a blanket and know where they were at the touch of the button.

The Ninja is testing out new limits. He was given money for treats and such as long as he checked in before he purchased. He is bigger by number and wants all the freedom and advantages that can come with that, but at the same time have mom or dad hold his hand at his convenience. This is proving not so well with his manners and attitude. Mom has had to go to drastic measures and take away privileges from him. The balance will come soon, the scale is still tipping both ways on a daily bases.

The Princess has decided she can swim and is trying to give mom a heart attack! But it is an awesome step from the end of May when she wouldn't even get in the pool. This being said dad and mom decided to put her in swim lessons that started yesterday. She is truly shining in her attempts and has a smile on her face. With her birthday around the corner she is growing super fast and it magically to watch and be a part of.

Welcome to the little things that make me smile.

The little things in my life are actually growing up very fast. They have inspired me to share their day to day escapades. Somedays they have wild and crazy adventures and somedays they are very subdued. The more the Ninja and Princess make me laugh, the more it seemed evident to spread their happiness. They live in a giant bubble provided by their overly eccentric mom (yours truly) and their dad who will do anything to make sure at the end of whatever type of day they have had ends with smiles on all of their faces. I have seen a quote, "Once in awhile right in the middle of ordinary life, Love gives us a fairytale." and this is about a Ninja and a Princess in training living out a fairytale with their mom and dad. My hope is to bring smiles to your face through the eyes of a Ninja and a Princess.
